Frequently Asked Questions
What happens at the first appointment?
The first appointment focuses on understanding what you are seeking support for, exploring relevant background and considering the most appropriate therapeutic approach.
How do I know which approach is right for me?
You do not need to decide alone. Following an enquiry, we can discuss what may be most appropriate for your goals, circumstances and preferences.
Are counselling sessions supervised?
Yes. Therapeutic counselling services are provided as part of practitioner counselling training and delivered under professional supervision.
Are online sessions available?
Yes. Many services can be offered online where clinically appropriate.
Are sessions confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is maintained within professional, ethical and safeguarding boundaries.
Your privacy is respected, and what you share in therapy is treated confidentially. The exception is where I am legally or professionally required to share information, such as if there is a serious and immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, safeguarding concerns involving a child or vulnerable adult, or where disclosure is required by law.
